Cuncolim is a city in the Indian state of Goa .

The city is that part of the South Goa District . Cuncolim has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 10 wards (constituencies).

Demographics

The city's population is 16,623 according to the 2011 census. Cuncolim has a gender ratio of 1098 women per 1000 men and thus a rare excess of women for India. The literacy rate was 90.8% in 2011. Almost 50% of the population are Hindus , approx. 38% are Christians and approx. 12% are Muslims and less than 1% belong to another or no religion. 9.4% of the population are children under 6 years of age.
