Curepipe Starlight SC is a football club from Curepipe , Mauritius, founded in 2001 .

history

In 2006 Curepipe Starlight was able to win the Mauritian Cup for the first time, followed by the Mauritian championship in 2007, so the club qualified for the CAF Champions League 2008. Here they met the Comorian representative Coin Nord Mitsamiouli in the first round . Curepipe won the first leg 2-0, the second leg in Comoros ended 0-1, but due to the higher number of goals scored, the club reached the second round. The second game against Coin Nord Mitsamiouli was also the first international club game in the Comoros of all time. In the second round, the team met the Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa , but lost in both games and were then eliminated. In 2008 Curepipe was able to successfully defend the Mauritian championship title and also won the Mauritian Cup. In 2009 the championship triple was completed perfectly. In 2013 the club managed to win their fourth title and third cup. In 2015, he was relegated to the second-class National Division , but has not been promoted again to this day.

The club's best-known players are the Mauritian national players Johan Cundasamy and Johan Marmitte .
