Curt Furbach

Curt Furbach (born June 27, 1886 in Konitz ; † May 8, 1957 in Schleswig ) was a German ministerial official, manager of the German porcelain industry and a local government official.

Life

After graduating from the Prinz Heinrich-Gymnasium in Berlin-Schöneberg , Curt Furbach studied law and economics at the universities of Heidelberg , Königsberg and Berlin . In 1904 he became a member of the Corps Baltia Königsberg . In 1907 he passed the First State Examination in Law with distinction and received his doctorate in 1908 as Dr. jur. After completing his studies and legal preparatory service , he became a court assessor in 1912 . In 1913 he settled in Berlin as a lawyer. During the First World War he was employed in the civil administration of the Commander-in-Chief East , then became an employee of the organization of the German judicial administration in Congress Poland and was most recently a district judge in Czenstochau , Sokolow-Wengrow and again Czenstochau. In 1917 he was appointed unskilled worker in the Reich Office of the Interior and later in the Reich Ministry of Economics .

In 1919 Furbach resigned from the Reichsdienst as a member of the government and became managing director of the employers' association of the German fine ceramics industry and the association of ceramic trades in Germany . He was then appointed to the board of directors of the Fraureuth AG porcelain factory and appointed Reich representative of the fine ceramics foreign trade office. In 1923 he became a board member of the porcelain factories CM Hutschenreuther AG and C. Tielsch & Co. AG in Dresden. In 1927 he was appointed head of the central administration of both companies.

Curt Furbach was chairman of the supervisory board of the Saxonia Dental sales company in Dresden, deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Altrohlauer Porzellanfabriken AG in Altrohlau near Karlsbad and the machine factory Kuhnert-Tribo-Werke AG in Meißen as well as a member of the supervisory board of the Bank für Keramische Industrie AG in Dresden, the ceramic industry supply AG and the Association of German Porcelain Tableware Manufacturers

In 1937, the banking house Gebr. Arnhold, which patronized CM Hutschenreuther AG, transferred him to the Arnholdschen pension association in Dresden. In 1938 the Gauleiter and Reich Governor of Saxony transferred the Arnholdschen pension association to the Saxon State Bank and relieved Furbach of his position. In 1939 Furbach and his wife bought the brickworks in Schleswig, which they had to shut down in 1941 for reasons related to the war.

After the Second World War, he was elected City Director of Schleswig on July 17, 1946 . In 1950 he was one of the founders of the Corps Albertina Hamburg as a traditional corps of several Königsberg corps.
