Curumin (born July 28, 1976 in São Paulo , Brazil ; real name Luciano Nakata Albuquerque ) is a Brazilian singer . In his music, often in Portuguese, less often in English, he combines various musical elements and genres, in particular Samba , Rio Funk , Jazz , Bossa Nova and Hip-Hop .

Name meaning

The term "curumin" is often used by indigenous Brazilians for precocious children. Albuquerque, whose musical talent came to the fore at a young age, felt like this.

Career

Growing up in an extremely musical Japanese-Spanish family in São Paulo, the young Albuquerque founded his first rock band with his classmates at the age of eight. After this only served the purpose of meeting for fun and making a little music together, he formed another band called ZU in the following two years . His rhythmic talent was noticed early on, which is why he had his first percussion appearances in local clubs and discos at the age of 14, and only a few years later he was also active on the keyboard.

During and after his visit to the “Gaviões da Fiel” music school, he and two friends played in the style of Brazilian music and classical funk in another band called Zomba , with whom he usually performed as a pre-act for well-known Brazilian musicians such as Arnaldo Antunes and Andrea Marquee , performed in different countries. At the same time he played in the band Toca with Gustavo Lenza , who gave him the final impetus for his album Achados e Perdidos , which he finally released as he devoted himself more and more to his own solo career. It was released in September 2005 under the Quannum Projects label .

In 2008 and 2012, the two other albums Japan Pop Show , which contains the title Magrela Fever , which is part of the official soundtrack of the computer game FIFA 09 , and Arrocha were released .
