Curve Fever (short cf or cf2. ), Also known under the name Warning, the curve! 2, or Zatacka , is a free browser game that can be played by two to eight players. This computer game was developed by Geert van den Burg and Robin Brouns . It's a remake of the video game Watch out for the curve! .
Gameplay
The game shows similarities to the game Snake : You control a constantly lengthening "curve". As soon as you touch the wall, your own line or that of an opponent, you are eliminated, but the curve remains. The aim of the game is to survive longer than the opponents.
The player controls the curve with just two buttons: one can turn the curve to the left, the other to the right. The curves do not bend abruptly, as is the case with Snake , for example , but rather bend gradually and can not fall below a certain minimum radius .
The player units appear at random locations on the map and move at a constant speed until they collide or win. Skilful steering can take away space from opponents and force them to make mistakes.
The curve stops at random intervals and forms gaps through which you can maneuver with a little skill. To win, a player must have a total of .
The game has 25 powerups that have various effects on your own curve (green), other curves (red) or on the game in general (blue). For example, you can increase your own speed, reduce the size of the map or invert the left-right control of the opponents. In addition, online features such as ingame chat, private communication options between players, a friend list and a forum enliven the game.
At the start of the game, you can choose one of the two servers (Europe, America), create a game room yourself as a host , or join an existing room.
This game is limited to its basic functions, free of charge, but with a paid premium account it offers additional features such as no advertising, an unlimited friend list, participation in official tournaments and more individual, as well as many more options for creating leeway with regard to powerups, number of players ( up to eight players per card possible) or value of the game ( ranked games). Team games are also possible with a premium account. The official tournaments usually take place monthly, in alternating game modes, and are only playable for premium members. The first three players or teams receive an extension of their premium account or a large number of coins . The winner (s) will receive a crown icon and an extra reward for special tournaments.
Curve colors (white, purple, rasta , rainbow colors , arctic , lava , rainbow , silver , gold , candy and jungle ), five powerups and a large number of icons can be set with an in-game currency, the coins, which you receive for the completed playing time , which are visible in front of the account name in the game.

Hidden Monster Games announced on August 22, 2019 that they would end support for Curve Fever 2 on September 2, 2019.

In 2014 , the offline single player game Flappy Curve , which was invented by Ateri , was released as a mixture of the mobile game Flappy Bird and Curve Fever . The game is completely free and funded through voluntary donations.
The task here is to make the curve with the arrow keys on the keyboard through holes, the position of which varies, without touching the wall or the obstacles, which ends the game. Starting from level 1 (very slow), the curve becomes faster from level to level and the aisles become more treacherous. In addition, the playing surface begins to rotate after a while. The graphic is based on that of Curve Fever. There are four game modes that differ only in the starting point ( easy level 1; medium level 2; hard level 3 and expert level 4).

The successor title, Curve Fever 3 , was released on August 29, 2016. The gameplay differs significantly from the previous versions in some points.
Here the new arena feature stands out, in which you are randomly thrown into a game with players from all over the world. There are three different arenas available in which players are randomly assigned to one another. Depending on the final position in the arena, the player wins or loses a number of coins that grows with increasing arena number. The coins can be converted into other curve designs in the shop, e.g. B. snail, dragon or lizard, which differ for example in thickness, speed or turning circle are invested. Items can also be bought in this way. Further gameplay innovations in Curve Fever 3 are the permeable walls. A ranking system was added to the game a few months after its release. As with Curve Fever 2 , this is based on the Elo system. The rank is partially reset after each season. Based on their rank, the players are divided into different leagues. The highest league Grand Masters differs from the others in that, regardless of the absolute level of the rank of its players, it is always composed of the 100 currently highest rated players.
In addition to the Arena mode, there is the Custom Games mode , in which hosts can create their own game rooms, reminiscent of Curve Fever 2 . In this mode, the games still have their original length. Both FFA games, in which the player can choose between the curve designs, and Classic games, in which the curve type is the same for all players, are possible. However, there is no ranking in the Custom Games . The official tournaments are played in Custom Games mode. Team games are not possible in Curve Fever 3.
