Custo
Custo Barcelona is the name of a Spanish fashion label from Barcelona . It was founded in 1996 by Custo Dalmau (born 1959 in Tremp, Lleida as Ángel Custodio Dalmau Salmón) and his brother David.
When Custo dropped out of his architecture degree in 1983 to devote himself to his love for textile design, he and his brother still had to sell their creations door to door. In 1997, one year after the founding of CUSTO BARCELONA, they were invited to Summer Fashion Week in New York, which marked the beginning of their steep career in America and southern Europe.
The colored, “broken” style of their shirts has conquered the American market, because the stylists of some successful US series began their actors and actresses. a. to dress with Custo (for example Sex and the City , Friends ). Many stars today also wear custo ( Beyoncé , Christina Aguilera , Claudia Schiffer , Antonio Banderas etc.)
Although the shirts are still her trademark, Custo now has a complete clothing line. In 2003, Custo Dalmau was named “Man of the Year” by Spanish GQ Magazine and in the same year also as Best Designer 2003 by Metaphore Magazine. In Germany and Austria there are no Custo branches.
