Association area

The Cuxhavener Deichverband is responsible for part of the urban area in Cuxhaven. The area includes all plots of land located under the protection of the main dikes up to a height of +6.00 m above sea ​​level, including the higher ground elevations within this area.

The main dike line in the area of ​​responsibility of the dyke association is around 13.5 kilometers long. It extends from the higher-lying area of Wurster Heide in the northwest to just before the sluice structure of the Baumrönne on the Elbe in the southeast.

The association area of ​​the Cuxhavener Deichverband borders in the southeast on the association area of ​​the Hadelner Deich- und Uferbauverband .

tasks

The dike association has the task of protecting properties in the association area from storm surges . To this end, he maintains the dikes in the association area.

Association structure

The association is represented by a committee that is elected by the association members. The committee consists of 20 members and in turn elects a board of five members.

Members of the association are all landowners and leaseholders of the properties located in the association area.
