Association area

The dyke association is responsible for an area of ​​around 42,000  hectares in the north of the district of Cuxhaven , which includes all properties protected by the left Elbe dike up to a height of +6 m above sea ​​level, including the higher ground elevations within this area. The main dyke line in the area of ​​responsibility of the dyke association is 15.4 kilometers long. It extends on the left bank of the Elbe from the sluice structure of the Baumrönne in the Cuxhaven district of Groden to the radar tower in Belum on the border between Otterndorf and the municipality of Belum.

The association area of ​​the Hadelner Deich- und Uferbauverband borders in the north on the association area of ​​the Cuxhavener Deichverband and in the east on the association area of ​​the Ostedeichverband and on the Elbe-Weser shipping route south of Bad Bederkesa on the association area of ​​the dike association Osterstader Marsch .

Club structure

The association is represented by a committee that is elected by the association members. The committee consists of 17 members. For its part, it elects a board of seven members. A personal representative is also elected for each committee and board member.

Members of the association are all landowners and leaseholders of the properties located in the association area.

Others

In Otterndorf there is an approximately two kilometer long dyke adventure trail with eight information stations on the dike.
