The dike association Osterstader Marsch is a dike association based in Beverstedt .
Association area
The Deichverband is responsible for an area of 45,349 hectares in the districts of Cuxhaven and Osterholz , which includes all plots of land located under the protection of the right Weser dike up to a height of 6.00 m above sea level, including the higher ground elevations within this area.
The main dyke line in the area of responsibility of the Osterstader Marsch dike association is 29.5 kilometers long. It extends on the right bank of the Weser from the state border with Bremen to the former state border with Bremerhaven on the Neuer Lunesiel.
The association area of the Deichverband Osterstader Marsch borders in the south on the association area of the Bremischer Deichverband on the right bank of the Weser and in the north on the area in Bremerhaven managed by bremerports and on the Elbe-Weser shipping route south of Bad Bederkesa on the association area of the Hadelner Deich- und Uferbauverband .

Most of the dikes are grazed by sheep in order to ensure dike safety. In the summer months, grazing with young cattle is also possible. The dikes are grazed by two sheep farms .
Association structure
The association is represented by a committee that is elected by the association members. The committee consists of 16 members. For its part, it elects a board of directors made up of five board members and the chairman of the board. A personal representative is also elected for each committee and board member.
Members of the association are all landowners and leaseholders of the properties located in the association area.
