The Cyambwe Lake is a lake in the east of Rwanda and south of the Akagera National Park in Nasho basin at an altitude of about 1300 meters.

On the eastern bank, the Akagera Nile flows close to the lake through the Akagera swamps and is connected to the lake by several small streams. Only about 3 kilometers from the northeast end of the lake is the border to Tanzania . The Cyambwe Lake extends over a length of about 13 kilometers from southwest to northeast and has a width of just over one kilometer. To the northwest lies Lake Nasho , from which Lake Cyambwe is only separated by a narrow land bridge. To the east lies the Mpanga Sea a short distance away .
Flora and fauna
The lake is densely overgrown with papyrus (Cyperus papyrus) and water lilies (Nymphea nouchallii). Tilapia fish, hippos and crocodiles live in the lake .
