Cylindropuntia caribaea is a species of the genus Cylindropuntia in the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Cylindropuntia cedrosensis has low shrubs , is spread out with slightly sloping branches and reaches heights of 0.5 to 1 meter. On the green to gray-green, 3 to 7 centimeters long and 2.8 to 3.7 centimeters in diameter shoot sections there are wide oval cusps. The cream-colored areoles turn gray with age and have inconspicuous glochids 2 to 3 millimeters long . The ten to twelve thorns are present on almost all areoles. They are orange to light yellow, gray with age and are 3.4 to 4.4 centimeters long. Three to six main spines and five to seven secondary spines are formed.

Nothing is known about the flowers . The green to gray-green, vertically compressed fruits are fleshy and thorny. They are 1.7 to 2.4 inches long and 3 to 3.6 inches in diameter.

Distribution and systematics

Cylindropuntia cedrosensis is distributed in the Mexican state of Baja California in the southwest of Isla de Cedros and in the west of Isla San Benito .

The first description by Edward Frederick Anderson was published in 2001. However, the name is invalid according to Articles 36.1 and 37.1 of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (nom. Invalid.)
