Cytotoxin is a Saxon brutal and technical death metal band from Chemnitz , which was founded in 2010.
history
The band was founded in 2010 by the drummer Tobias Olijnyk, the guitarist Fabrice Töpfer, the singer Sebastian Grihm and the bassist Vitalis Kast. Within six months the band wrote their debut album Plutonium Heaven , the theme of which was inspired by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster , which was recorded and mixed in January 2011. The sound carrier was later mastered in the Megawimp Studio in Berlin before it was released in April 2011. In the same year the band also played with Deicide , Belphegor and Graveworm . In April 2012 the band recorded their next album Radiophobia in the Kohlkeller Studios in Hesse under the direction of Kristian Kohlmannslehner . In 2012 she performed throughout Germany, as well as Ukraine , Denmark and the Netherlands . In November, Radiophobia was also released through Unique Leader Records . Jason Melidonie joined the band as the second guitarist in November 2014. On March 6, 2016, the band announced on their Facebook page that their drummer Ollie is leaving the band for professional reasons. Stephan Stockburger became his successor.
style
According to Marcus 90 from ultimate-guitar.com, the band on Radiophobia play a mixture of brutal and technical death metal, whereby the band uses breakdowns and, above all, the riffs are technically very demanding. When it comes to riffs, the band also occasionally uses palm muting . The drumming, which relies on typical death metal double bass and blast beats, is reminiscent of that of John Longstreth from Origin . The singing is deep and guttural .
