Danish hip hop
Hip-Hop is a cultural movement originally from the USA . Their most famous revelation is hip hop music , which consists of DJing and rapping . Hip-hop has grown in popularity in Denmark over the past fifteen years, starting with Danish-speaking groups like MC Eine and Rockers by Choice .
In the early 1990s , English was the preferred language of Danish rap groups as well as the underground groups Dope Solution , Kidnap and, one of the first breakthrough female artists, No Name Requested . No Name Requested was also one of the first to combine rap with elements of reggae. In the late 1990s, the desire for Danish rap became the language of choice for artists like Jokeren and his group Madness for Real . The Funky Fly record company was an important part of this development.
Unlike many other countries where English-speaking rappers have greater prospects of success, in Denmark the prospects for Danish-speaking rappers have been at least as good. Some Danish MCs rapping in English became even better known abroad than at home.
A well-known hiphop formation consisting of Danish-speaking artists is the Full Impact Production (FIP) also known as FIPGC (Full Impact Productions Gangster Click). From her come the musicians Orgi-E , Bai-D , Troo LS , LOC , Rune Rask as well as the Rapschaft Suspekt, which is made up of some of the aforementioned members. In 2005 two of the members, Troo LS and Orgi-E released an album, Forklædt Som Voksen . LOC (Liam O'Connor) is the most successful solo rapper in the history of the Danish hip hop with 60,000 albums sold. His first album Dominologi contains hits like "Absinth" and "Drik Min Hjerne Ud". His second album, Inkarneret , had tremendous success, with hit songs like "Undskyld", "Hvem" and "Pop Det Du Har". The album, Cassiopeia , was released on September 15, 2005 and the tracks "Frøken Escobar", "Du Gør Mig" and "Få Din Flask 'På" became a huge success. His last album "Melankolia / XxxCouture" also impressed with "XxxCouture", "Hvorfor Vil Du Ikk" and "Superbia".
The two well-known producers Rune Rask and Troo LS were behind most of the hits of the FIP members. They received the title as the best producer team.
