Défense d'afficher ( German  poster forbidden ) is a French comedy from 1896 by Georges Méliès . The film was considered lost for a long time until it was rediscovered in 2004.

action

A guard marches up and down his post. While he is on one of his patrols, a poster sticker begins to stick a poster on the wall. A little later, a second poster sticker sticks a larger poster over the first. There is an argument between the two men. They disappear when a gendarme comes by.

The security guard did not notice anything about the forbidden billposting and a little later he was scolded by the gendarme.

The film was produced by the Théâtre Robert-Houdin . In America the film was released under the title Post No Bills .
