Döndü Kılıç

Döndü Kılıç (born June 20, 1976 in Malatya , Turkey ) is a German director.

Life

Kılıç grew up in Bonn , where she also gained her first experience as an assistant director at the Euro-Theater-Central-Bonn from 1993 to 1996 . She was also jointly responsible for its public relations work. Before starting her studies in philosophy and sociology at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 1996 , she completed various internships in the field of theater directing and photojournalism, as well as television and video productions during her studies. In 2002 she completed her directing studies at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb).

Kılıç has been co-organizer of the Fusion Festival since 1999 .

Two of her films were shown at the Berlinale as part of the Panorama. The 2008 film The Other Side of Istanbul is her sixth film.
