Döring (Breslau patrician family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Döring (also Doering, Dorynk, Doringi, Duringus, Thuringus, Thoringus ) is the name of a Breslau patrician family in Thuringia , who probably immigrated from the Meißner Land in Breslau in the 13th century , where three members belonged to the council in the 14th century. They were wealthy in the duchies of Breslau and Oels .

history

The Döring were probably of noble origin, as the first councilor Heinrich / Henricus appeared as a witness on a document among other nobles as early as 1307. In addition, a Paul "Doering" in Breslau is documented for the year 1340. He was a knight of the Order of St. John , who only accepted nobles. There has been no evidence of the Döring in Breslau since the beginning of the 15th century. Presumably they turned away from there. According to an epitaph in the Glogau parish church, Nikolaus “Döring” was buried there on April 4, 1517. It is possible that this man was the last member of the Wroclaw patrician family.
