Dötzenkopf

The cross-studded Dötzenkopf is at 1001  m the lowest 1,000- meter peak in the Lattengebirge and thus also one of the lowest peaks in the Berchtesgaden Alps . It lies exactly below the Spechtenköpf ( 1285  m ), which can also be climbed from the Dötzenkopf. Immediately behind the cross rises a knoll, which is also included in the Dötzenkopf. This towers over the "small" Dötzenkopf by 6 m (so it measures 1007  m ). The peaks are in the southwestern municipality of Bayerisch Gmain .

One of the paths to the Dötzenkopf leads from Bad Reichenhall past the Bildstöckl Chapel built in 1949 . The ascent over the Wappachkopf (800 m) can also be done from Bayerisch Gmain .

The Dötzenkopf offers a good view of Bad Reichenhall, Salzburg and the surrounding mountains. Its flora and fauna are also considered worth seeing by mountain hikers.
