The Dürener Bank was a credit institute based in Düren . It was incorporated into Dresdner Bank in 1970 , which in turn became part of Commerzbank on May 11, 2009 .

The Dürener Bank was founded on March 30, 1898. Their first office was at 7 Bonner Strasse . On June 30, 1899, she moved into the newly built corner house at Schützenstrasse / Bismarckstrasse opposite the Kaufhof .

The bank expanded into the region in quick succession. In 1901 a branch was added in Euskirchen . In 1903 the Euskirchener Volksbank was incorporated . A branch was established in Jülich in 1904 and the Jülich Volksbank was incorporated one year later. In 1909 the Lechenicher Creditverein was taken over and in 1920 the community of interests with Dürener Volksbank (whose majority of shares and customer business was completely taken over in 1943) was added. In 1925 the Zülpicher Volksbank was taken over and in 1927 another branch was opened in Eschweiler . After the Second World War , branches were added in Schleiden (1960), Linnich (1963) and Birkesdorf and Dürwiß (1965).
