The DB Regio RheinNeckar GmbH transport company was a subsidiary of DB Regio AG . It was founded in 2002 and operated the RheinNeckar S-Bahn with 7 lines and also local traffic in the Rhine-Neckar area with a total of 27 lines. It was a company with its own profit responsibility. The chairman was Andreas Schilling. The company was headquartered in Mannheim , with operating locations in Ludwigshafen and Karlsruhe . On April 19, 2006, the transport company DB Regio RheinNeckar was dissolved and the DB Region RheinNeckar was created . In spring 2015, this was combined with the Southwest Region division to form the new DB Regio Southwest , which in turn was merged with DB Regio Hessen to form the new DB Regio Mitte on January 1, 2017.

Maintenance of vehicles

The motor coaches of the series 425 were in an extra for the S-Bahn -built plant in Ludwigshafen maintained. It consists of four work stations. Replacement and booster vehicles also started their journey from here. In addition to the remaining n-cars, the 628 series was serviced in the passenger car hangar in Ludwigshafen, and part of the work on the 628 series was also carried out in the electric locomotive workshop. In the electric locomotive workshop, minor repairs were carried out on the class 111 locomotives, while larger repairs were carried out in Frankfurt-Griesheim . The maintenance of the class 218 took place in the depot Karlsruhe Hbf. The multiple units of the class 643 were also serviced in the depot Karlsruhe Hbf. For this purpose, a hall track of the locomotive shed was extended. Individual work on the 643 series was also carried out in Ludwigshafen. The class 642 diesel multiple units were serviced in Kaiserslautern , where they were also stationed.
