DC Super Hero Girls is an animated series produced by Lauren Faust . It is loosely based on the franchise of the same name , for which there is already an animated series. The series will officially air on International Women's Day (March 8, 2019) on Cartoon Network ; short webisodes could already be seen online beforehand.
Differences from the first series
Here the superhero girls do not attend a school for superheroes, but one for completely normal people and have to try to get along with them. Another difference is that Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, among others, attend the same school here, but are not friends of theirs, but are already active as villains and must be fought by them. The personalities of the superhero women have also changed somewhat. So Batgirl is now a hyperactive fangirl and Supergirl a rebel who doesn't like to submit to anyone. There is also a certain rivalry between Green Lantern alias Jessica Cruz (here a staunch ecologist and pacifist) and Star Sapphire, as the latter has a relationship with Green Lantern alias Hal Jordan and can get very jealous. In addition, Catwoman has been portrayed as an African-American again for a long time.
