Diacylglycerol- O -acyltransferase 1 ( DGAT1 ) is an enzyme from the metabolism of lipids .

properties

DGAT1 is involved as an enzyme from the group of diacylglycerol-O-acyltransferases in the biosynthesis of triacylglycerides . It transfers an acyl group from acyl-CoA to diacylglycerol or retinol . In contrast to DGAT2 , DGAT1 is not essential. XP620 inhibits DGAT1 with an IC50 of 25.9 uM for retinol and 13.9 uM for palmitoyl-coenzyme A .

DGAT1 catalyzes the following reactions:

Acyl-CoA + 1,2-diacylglycerol = CoA + triacylglycerol

Acyl-CoA + retinol = CoA + retinyl ester

Inhibitors of DGAT1 be for the treatment of obesity studied.
