The DJK Fortuna Dilkrath (officially: Deutsche Jugendkraft Fortuna Dilkrath eV ) is a sports club from Schwalmtal in the Viersen district . The first women's soccer team took part in the DFB Cup three times .

history

In 1931 the predecessor of today's DJK Fortuna was founded with the game and sports club Dilkrath , the game company of the German youth force . Two years later, after the National Socialists came to power, the association was banned and dissolved. After the end of the Second World War , a successor club was founded in 1946 with FC Dilkrath . Three years later, this club entered into a syndicate with a club from neighboring Boisheim, which lasted only a few years. In 1962, the youth movement KJG St. Gertrudis Dilkrath was founded under Pastor Heinrich van Booven . From this, today's DJK Fortuna Dilkrath was founded on June 21, 1964.

Women's soccer

The women's football division was founded in the early 1980s. In 1993, the team rose to the then second-rate Regionalliga West under coach Stefan Lracht . In 1995 and 1997 Fortuna achieved its best rankings with fifth place. In the meantime, the Dikratherinnen could only secure the league in 1996 because of the better goal difference compared to the Herford SV . 1997 the regional league era ended with bad luck. As fourth last, the team had to relegate to the association league because regional league champions SG Wattenscheid 09 failed in the promotion round to the Bundesliga . In 2007, he was promoted again to the regional league, which was followed by direct relegation. The third promotion to the regional league succeeded in 2011, before the team left the club due to internal disagreements. The team started on the first day of play, lost 9-0 at Borussia Bocholt and was then withdrawn. Then the Fortuna was passed through to the national league.

Men's soccer

For decades, the Fortuna men's team only played at the district level. In 2004, the team under coach Stefan Lracht made their first promotion to the district league, where the team still plays today.
