The Deutsche Jugendkraft Konstanz is a sports club from Konstanz on Lake Constance .
history
The association was founded in 1926 in Konstanz on Lake Constance. As a result of the National Socialists' seizure of power, the associations of the German Youth Force were banned and dissolved in 1933. On December 12, 1959, the DJK Konstanz was re-established.
The DJK Konstanz is the oldest football club in Konstanz, which still plays under its original name. The club plays its home games on the Tannenhof sports field in the middle of the Lorettowald.
The club also has aerobics, ski & snowboard and an RC car department.
The footballers of the DJK Konstanz gained national attention for the first time when they were promoted to the Black Forest-Bodensee amateur league in 1973. As a result of a reorganization of the football leagues, the club moved to the first amateur league in South Baden in 1974 . As fifth place in the 1st amateur league, the DJK Konstanz was one of the founding members of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 1978 . After they finished seventh and eleven in the first two seasons, they had to relegate at the end of the 1980/81 season as bottom of the table with only 9:59 points and 32:147 goals. Thus the DJK Konstanz holds the negative records for the fewest points and the most goals conceded in a season of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. In addition, the team lost three times in double digits this season, including 2:13 against SV Sandhausen , which was the highest home defeat in the history of the league to date.
During the club's heyday, there were duels with traditional clubs such as Eintracht Frankfurt or 1. FC Nürnberg.
After relegation, the club was able to hold three seasons in the Association League South Baden , but from which he also relegated in 1984. At the beginning of the 1983/1984 season, the DJK was still one of the favorites. But even before the game started, there were quarrels. The last victory on September 17, 1983 was followed by 23 defeats. 41 actors used were record-breaking at the time. After three relegations in a row, the club slipped into the district league A.
In the 2009/10 season the DJK Konstanz was runner-up in the district league A and, after successfully completing relegation games, made it to the district league Bodensee.
After two seasons in the district league, the club was relegated in 2012 and is now playing in the district league B.
