Turntable controller for the PS3

DJ Hero ( Engl. "DJ Hero") is an offshoot of the Guitar Hero series . In the game, the user should try to mix original pieces of music that can be heard during the game on a special turntable controller as authentically as possible by executing appropriate gestures on the controller. The first part was published on October 29, 2009 in Europe and on October 27, 2009 in America.

The game was developed by FreeStyleGames and published by Activision .
A second part was announced on June 8, 2010. This was published on October 22, 2010.

On March 20, 2014, the developers announced that the chargeable additional content had been removed from all online stores and was therefore no longer available. Content that has already been purchased can still be used and is not affected by this change.

Gameplay

The player's task is to use the special turntable controller to play a certain mix of songs. To do this, he has to press buttons on the controller at the right time.
It is still possible to use the well-known Guitar Hero guitar on some mixes, so that you can also use it to play multiplayer. However, only the combinations guitar / turntable or turntable / turntable are permitted. In contrast to the classic Guitar Hero gameplay, in which it was only a matter of pressing the differently colored buttons according to the colors that appear on the screen, DJ Hero does not require the player to confirm the selection by "tapping", but does require some other movements: The cross fader must be set to the correct level at all times. The turntable is also controlled in - on higher levels of difficulty in increasingly precisely formulated - certain forward and backward sliding thrusts. The equivalent of the well-known star power is called "Euphoria" on the turntable and is activated by a button that lights up red when available. It ensures an increased number of points during activation, can be made usable through an error-free sequence of marked notes and prevents the series of notes from being broken off due to incorrect crossfader settings. Furthermore, through any longer error-free sections you get so-called "rewinds", which can be used by quickly turning the turntable backwards and allow a higher score by playing the same sections twice.

Tracklist

The tracklist in the first DJ Hero part contains 93 different song mixes. Additional songs can be purchased via Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network .
