DJ Red Alert , civic Frederick ( "Fred") Crute , (* 27. November 1956 in Antigua , West Indies ) is an American disc jockey , hip hop - Producer and works additionally as a disc jockey on the radio. DJ Red Alert is one of the pioneers of hip hop.

DJ Red Alert is of Antiguan origin. He grew up with his maternal grandparents in Harlem , New York City . He had a small hip-hop record company called Red Alert Productions ( RAP ) in the 1980s , which boosted the careers of Native Tongues posses such as the Jungle Brothers , A Tribe Called Quest, and Monie Love . Red Alert Productions was next to Russell Simmons hip-hop label Rush Artist Management and Cold Chillin 'Records one of the few record companies that dealt with hip-hop performers.

DJ Red Alert worked for the New York radio station WRKS ( 98.7 KISS FM ) for eleven years and for WQHT ( Hot 97 ) for seven years. He also participated in the Mix Show Article One of Youth Radio 92.5 in St. Martin on the US Virgin Islands, in part, by the Sirius Satellite Radio transmitter backspin was transferred. In 2008, DJ Red Alert celebrated his 25th anniversary as a radio disc jockey.

DJ Red Alert received a star on the Bronx Walk of Fame in June 2003 . He appeared in over 50 music videos .
