Band history

Shooting for Bayerischer Rundfunk am Blauen See in 2006

Da Huawa, da Meier and I are Christian Maier ( da Huawa ), Matthias Meier ( da Meier ) and Sepp Haslinger ( I ) from Lower Bavaria and the Upper Palatinate. Sepp Haslinger replaced Siegi Mühlbauer as I at the beginning of 2018 . The band has been playing on the stages in Bavaria and Austria for almost 20 years - long before every Bavarian fashion wave.

In 2004 the cabaret artist Martina Schwarzmann became aware of Da Huawa, da Meier and I and recommended the “Bavarian Boygroup” to stages and organizers. In 2004 the second stage program for Bavaria and Elsewhere was created . The three made their first musical attempts at the Robinson song stage in Runding / Vierau, one of the oldest cabaret theaters in Bavaria. The song Blauer See is also dedicated to her.

In July 2018, the group received the Schauer culture award from the Cham district in recognition of its outstanding contribution to “a culture that makes you laugh” and “a culture that makes you laugh” .

With over 100 live concerts a year, Da Huawa, da Meier and I are now among Bavaria's successful music-cabaret groups. Many of her songs such as Bayernland and Ohne Hos'n, ohne Schuah are well known in the south.

style

The music is played in traditional costume and sung in Bavarian dialect. The lyrics are subtle and cheeky and give cabaret food for thought. Social and political issues, not just the Bavarian homeland, are musically dealt with. Here they show that Bavaria is more than septum, white sausage and pretzels . They scrutinize the hustle and bustle of society, for example in their farmer's blues , in which they criticize the farmers' “tradition of lamentation”. You analyze, look past the country house curtains through the windows of the house in the green and unmask the Bavarian family idyll. But the closeness to their homeland is also one of their themes, if they sing about it with all its facets and traditions in the clearest three- song song Bayernland . Her songs sometimes impress with a lot of "Gfui" , are sometimes critical and serious, sometimes subtle and hilarious. The musical direction is stylistically diverse and ranges from folk music to blues and reggae to rock 'n' roll.

media

Since 2008, the three of them have had a permanent place in the weekly program freiraum on BR-alpha, in which they guide viewers through their Bavaria in a kind of small road movie . They were also music guests at Ottis Schlachthof and the evening show on Bavarian television, heard at Mattuschke's favorites on Bayern 3 or seen with pub musicians at Hirzinger's .

Projects

In addition to their stage programs, Da Huawa, da Meier and I are on the road with the Irish-Bavarian music project Irish-Bairisch and, together with the Irish music group Na Ciotogi, combine Bavarian and Irish folk music in an evening program. Irish-Bavarian has thus developed into an exchange of musicians with concerts in Bavaria and Ireland. Joint appearances with the wind ensemble Die Bayerischen Löwen are also part of their projects.
