I feel sick with a docutainment series broadcast on ZDFneo . The series deals with consumer issues and tries to “unmask” “tricks” especially in the food and cosmetics industries. The presenters for the first two seasons were Theo West and Maite Kelly . Wolfgang Trepper and Anastasia Zampounidis have been conducting the show since the third season .

In 2016 the program ran in three episodes under the name Wiso Konsumagenten on ZDF and ZDFinfo .

Structure of the program

In each episode, the moderators devote themselves to a consumer topic. In the first season, nutrition topics were mainly dealt with, for example whether light products actually make you slim, organic foods are healthier or which flavor enhancers and substitute products are contained in foods. The effect of so-called beauty products such as anti-wrinkle creams was also examined carefully. In the second season, Maite Kelly and Theo West also deal with cosmetic surgery, investments and cold medicines.

The two dissimilar moderators of the first two seasons - Theo West rather suspicious, Maite Kelly as a gullible customer - sought out experts and carried out tests in a playful way. In the issue of “Textile”, for example, tights were torn by a tractor. Kelly also squeezed out a real squid on a white T-shirt in search of natural coloring. In the respective episodes, the topic dealt with was presented in such a way that the moderators gained increasing knowledge of the topic dealt with in the course of the episode. At this point, personal problems of the moderators, such as Theo West's bald head or Maite Kelly's overweight, were also addressed.
