Dagmar Stelberg

Dagmar Stelberg (born September 21, 1958 in Engelskirchen ) is a former German national handball player .

biography

Stelberg played in the half-right backcourt and was usually the most dangerous player in her team. In the course of her career as a handball player, Stelberg has played 219 international games (832 goals) since 1978, took part in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , where she won the Olympic Games ; twice she was nominated for games of a world selection. She played for VfL Engelskirchen and then from 1990 for the then up-and-coming TuS Walle Bremen , a club that was temporarily supported by a local entrepreneur, with whom she was promoted to the Bundesliga and celebrated her greatest success, won the DHB Cup three times , 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995 and 1996 German champion and even won a European club competition, the IHF Cup . In addition, Stelberg received the Bremen Sportswoman of the Year award in 1996 .

Towards the end of her career, Stelberg switched to the lower-class handball players from Werder Bremen , where she let her career end and has been head of the handball department since 1999. In the meantime she has been elected to the presidium of the sports club.

In the civilian profession, Stelberg works as a bank clerk. She is also active in local politics for the CDU in her place of residence in Bremen .
