Daijirō Higuchi (born March 28, 1983 ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .

Career

Higuchi, who studied at the Hokusho Sports University, got a starting place in the Japanese youth team in 2000. In the Ski Jumping Continental Cup he scored 28th points in his first season 2000/01 and was 127th overall. Also in the following season 2001/02 he started with the first points gains before he was 20th in the individual jumping at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2002 in Schonach in the Black Forest . In Zaō , Higuchi surprised at the end of the season with second place and thus his first podium in the Continental Cup. After a 16th place in the second competition, he reached 91st place in the overall season standings.

A year later, Higuchi started again in the 2003 season in Sapporo and Zaō in the Continental Cup, but could only win a few points. Despite his success from the previous season, he did not travel to show jumping outside of Japan and received no further starting place in the squad after the end of the 2002/03 season and then ended his active career.
