Dainese women's motorcycle leather suit

Dainese is an Italian manufacturer of motorcycle , ski , equestrian and mountain bike clothing.

The headquarters are in Colceresa (district of Molvena ), where the management, the research and development center and the manufacturing facilities are also located. The Vicenza plant houses the purchasing and sales departments, as well as the warehouse for finished products and shipping.

Originally, the Dainese company only produced protective motorcycle clothing. Ski, water sports, equestrian and mountain bike clothing were added later as additional categories, with motorcycle clothing being the most important area.

The leather suits for motorcyclists are best known for their brand name lettering and the eye-catching brand logo with a stylized devil's head. The company's figurehead is the multiple GP world champion Valentino Rossi , who has been riding Dainese products for years.

history

As early as 1971, the current President Lino Dainese designed the stylized devil's head as a trademark. The company was founded in Molvena (Vicenza) in 1972 and Dainese began manufacturing motocross leather pants. To improve the comfort of the leather clothing, elastic inserts are combined with the clothing. As early as 1974 Dainese was able to support the German motorcycle racer Dieter Braun in the MotoGP as an official sponsor .

In 1980 Dainese also began manufacturing and manufacturing motorcycle gloves, and in 1983 back protectors designed by Marc Sadler and developed together with British motorcycle racer Barry Sheene were added.

In 1993 the Dainese Technology Center (D-Tec) was founded with the aim of accelerating the development of protective clothing. In 1994 Dainese was able to present its first motorcycle helmet. Furthermore, the know-how as a manufacturer of motorcycle protective clothing has been used since 1994 to produce protective clothing for alpine winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding as well as mountain bike clothing.

In July 2007 the motorcycle helmet manufacturer AGV was taken over.

The use of the D-Air airbag , which covers the shoulder girdle but not the head, for Ski World Cup downhill races and training has been discussed since December 2014 . It weighs 800 g, is 27 mm thick under the racing suit, and inflates in 1/10 of a second when 3 of 5 sensors signal “probably a fall”. The airbag should be designed in such a way that it is aerodynamically neutral.

In the summer, Peugeot Motocycles and Dainese introduced the D-air system "for all model variants of the Peugeot Metropolis ".
