The Daisy Point is a headland on the eastern shore of the Bay of Isles in the north of South Georgia . It is located 800 m west of Cape Wilson and marks the eastern limit of the entrance to the Beckmann Fjord .
In the course of mapping work by scientists of the British Discovery Investigations in 1929, the headland was named Low Point (English for low headland ). The South Georgia Survey , after surveying the area between 1951 and 1952, found that the descriptive name of the headland was incorrect due to its rugged and towering appearance. The headland was given its current name in 1954 on the recommendation of the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee . It is named after the brig Daisy under Captain Benjamin D. Cleveland (1844–1925), with which the American ornithologist Robert Cushman Murphy explored South Georgia between 1912 and 1913.
