Daki Jordanow
Daki Jordanow , actually Daki Jordanow Witschew , ( Bulgarian Даки Йорданов , born September 13, 1893 in Omurtag , † April 5, 1978 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian botanist .
Life
From 1956 to 1962 he was the rector of Sofia University. From 1962 he took over the position of director of the Institute of Botany of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences , which he held until 1974. Jordanow belonged to the presidium of the academy.
In his scientific work he dealt with the flora of Bulgaria under the aspects of the systematics of plant geography, geobotany , paleobotany and the ecology of plants.
He was awarded the Dimitrov Prize and as a hero of socialist work .
