The Dalou Mountains ( Chinese  大 婁 山  /  大 娄 山 , Pinyin Dàlóu Shān or 大 婁 山脈  /  大 娄 山脉 , Dàlóu Shānmài ) are limestone mountains with peaks around 2,000 m in the southwest of the People's Republic of China . It runs 300 kilometers from northeast to south and extends over areas of Guizhou , Chongqing and Sichuan . The mountain range begins in the north on the border between the provinces of Guizhou and Sichuan and extends to the Yachi River on the upper reaches of the Wu Jiang River in the south. It forms the watershed between the Wu Jiang and Chishui He ( 赤水 河 , Chìshuǐ Hé ) rivers . The height varies between usually between 1500 and 2000 meters above sea level. Fengchuiling ( 风吹 岭 , Fēng Chuī Lǐng  - "Windy Ridge") in Nanchuan (Chongqing) in the Jinfoshan mountain range is its highest peak at 2251  m . The 1608  m high Jindingshan ( 金顶 山 ) in Guizhou is also a well-known peak. In the area there is a moderate, subtropical, humid monsoon climate that is moderated by the altitude.
