Daly Waters is a settlement in the Australian state of Northern Territory with just 16 inhabitants, but it is shown on many maps of the continent. It is about 620 kilometers south of Darwin , a few kilometers west of the Stuart Highway and thus in a largely unpopulated area.
Daly Waters is famous (for his "Stuart Tree" English . Stuart's Tree), in the John McDouall Stuart einschnitzte an S, as he crossed Australia in 1862. “Waters” in the name of Daly Waters refers to the natural springs that supplied Stuart with the water he urgently needed for his crossing of Australia.
The only attraction Daly Waters has next to this tree is a pub lavishly decorated with banknotes and other souvenirs that tourists from all over the world have left here.
