Dam (ian) Vitzthum von Eckstedt (born September 10, 1595 - † March 12, 1638 ) was a major general in Saxony .

He came from the noble family Vitzthum von Eckstedt and was the fourth son of Georg Vitzthum von Eckstedt on Kannawurf . His older brothers were the canon Johann Georg Vitzthum von Eckstedt and the colonel Christian Vitzthum von Eckstedt .

Dam took part in the campaign to Bohemia in 1631 . On June 15, 1631, his troops had to capitulate to Field Marshal Heinrich von Holk in Elbogen . After the conquest of Magdeburg he became a commander there. He was fatally injured in the battle for the Warnemünder Schanze in 1638.

In 1632 he became member No. 312 of the “ Fruitful Society ” as “the remedial”. He was married to Ilse Elisabeth Heidewig von Münchhausen (* December 3, 1593, † February 9, 1635) since February 7, 1631.
