Georg Vitzthum von Eckstedt
Georg Vitzthum von Eckstedt (* 1551 , † February 28, 1605 in Leipzig ) was the Electoral Saxon Privy Councilor and Appellate Council in Dresden and captain of Salza , Thamsbrück and Sachsenburg .
He came from the noble family Vitzthum von Eckstedt , was the son of the father of the same name and after his death owned the Kannawurf manor . His father took part in the battle of Sievershausen .
In 1579 he became supervisor and in 1586 governor of Sangerhausen . In 1597 he moved to Langensalza and Thamsbrück as a bailiff.
His sons were Canon Johann Georg Vitzthum von Eckstedt , Colonel Christian Vitzthum von Eckstedt , Colonel Friedrich Wilhelm Vitzthum von Eckstedt, Major General Dam Vitzthum von Eckstedt and Colonel August Vitzthum von Eckstedt. Despite numerous sons, his line died out with this generation.
