The Dambecker See is a lake on the western edge of Dambeck, a district of Bütow in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The water has a size of 54.1 hectares and is 72 m above sea level. NHN . The maximum size of the lake is 1400 meters × 550 meters. Lake Dambeck is divided into two basins by a narrow point. The tributaries are ditches from the surrounding area, one of them from the Steinfortsee , the outflow is a ditch to the Elde . Only parts of the west bank and the south bank, where the federal highway 198 runs to the nearby federal highway 19 , are forested and more reed-covered. The remaining sections of the bank are occupied by agricultural land and the Dambeck estate in the southeast of the lake.
The east bank is accessed by a hiking trail that leads to a swimming area at the narrow part of the lake and 100 m further to the Dambeck church ruins . The Mecklenburg Lakes Cycle Path leads around the northeast end of the lake .
Before the German reunification , the Dambeck lake fed the irrigation of 700 hectares of sandy arable land. The water was pumped to Gut Tönchow in Wendisch Priborn from a station not far from the church ruins .
