Damerjog (also: Damerdjog , Arabic داميرجوغ) is a small village in eastern Djibouti in the Arta region , 13 km southeast of the capital Djibouti , on the border with Somalia .
geography
The village is about 13 km southeast of the capital and also about 2 km south of the main road RN2 (Route Nationale, Arabic الطريق الوطني ٢). The Wadi des Wayway (Oué Oué) flows from south to north in the north-west of the town and flows into the Oued Damêrdjôg .
history
The village arose at a military post that was intended for immigration control. Immigration dried up in the 1970s. A loading station for farm animals is now to be built on the coast.
Demographics
In 2012 the population of Damerjog was estimated at 600 people. The residents mainly belong to Afro-Asian language groups with Somalis of the Issa clan in the majority.
