Damian Hugo von Helmstatt (* 1719 , † 1782 ) was a co-owner of the Tiefburg in Handschuhsheim . From 1743 he and his brother Joseph (1727–1803) acquired the towns of Haßmersheim and Hochhausen .

Life

He was the son of Georg Adam von Helmstatt (1676–1741). Together with his brother Johann Ferdinand Joseph von Helmstatt (1727–1803) Damian Hugo owned the Handschuhsheimer Tiefburg. From 1743 the brothers jointly acquired the towns of Haßmersheim and Hochhausen from Messrs. Horneck von Hornberg . He was married to Maria Isabella von Knöringen. The marriage had five children. His son Franz Ludwig von Helmstatt (1752–1841) acquired the title of French count and united the entire possessions of the formerly widely branched von Helmstatt family . Damian Hugo was buried in the cemetery near the Peterskirche in Heidelberg , but later exhumed and transferred to the family crypt in Hochhausen .
