Dan Burinca

Dan Burincă (born June 17, 1972 in Sibiu , Romania ) is a former Romanian artistic gymnast .

He started gymnastics at CSȘ Sibiu and then moved to Steaua Bucharest . His special device were the rings .

In 1993 Burincă took part in the World Championships for the first time and reached fifth place on the rings in Birmingham. In 1994 he was eighth at the European Championships . At the gymnastics world championships in 1994 Burincă was able to win an international medal for the first time. In Brisbane he was tied with the German Valeri Belenki third.

At the gymnastics world championships in 1995 in Sabae (Japan) Burincă was behind the Italian jury Chechi , who dominated the ring gymnastics, vice world champion and won bronze with the Romanian gymnastics team in the team competition. In 1996 he reached fourth place at the World Championships . But the sporting highlight of the year was the Olympic Games . In Atlanta Burincă won the silver medal behind Jury Chechi and with the same points as the Hungarian Szilveszter Csollány .

After his gymnastics career, Burincă became a coach. First he was at the national gymnastics center in Deva , then at KTV Klagenfurt and at CSȘ Sibiu. In 2011 he became a trainer at the Siegerland Artistic Gymnastics Association .
