Dana Glover

Dana Glover (born October 14, 1974 in Rocky Mount , North Carolina ) is an American pop singer.

biography

Dana moved to Asheville , North Carolina with her parents when she was eight . At 16, she moved to Manhattan and became a model. At 18, however, she decided to pursue a career as a singer, which took her via Nashville to Los Angeles . In 2001 she wrote for the film Wedding Planner - in love, engaged, planned the lyrics to the song Plan On Forever . In the same year she got the opportunity to sing the song It Is You (I Have Loved) for the film Shrek , with which she became internationally known. In 2002, Glover got a recording deal with DreamWorks . Here she met former member of The Band , Robbie Robertson , who put her in touch with producer Matthew Wilder . Wilder produced her debut album Testimony , which placed her at number 41 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers charts. In 2003 she sang the song The Truth Lies for the German film Blueprint . In 2004, the song Thinking Over from the album Testimony was used for the Garry Marshall film Love on Detours . In 2014 she was a background singer on Leonard Cohen's Popular Problems album .
