Daniel Ammann

Daniel Ammann (* 1963 in Zurich ) is a Swiss journalist and book author .

Life

Daniel Ammann studied at the University of Zurich , the University of California in Berkeley and the Fondation post-universitaire internationale in Paris. He holds a degree in history, political science and federal law from the University of Zurich . Ammann headed, among other things, the economic departments of Weltwoche and the Swiss news magazine Facts .

His research into dubious investigative methods used by the federal prosecutor's office sparked the Roschacher affair involving a Colombian drug lord. They led to the resignation of Federal Prosecutor Valentin Roschacher in 2006 and to the non-re-election of Federal Prosecutor Erwin Beyeler in 2011 .

Ammann wrote a biography ( The King of Oil ) about the controversial commodity trader Marc Rich , the founder of Glencore . The book became a bestseller and has so far been published in nine languages.
