Daniel Andrew Middleton (born November 8, 1991 in Aldershot ) is a British web video producer and Let's Player who uploads videos to his YouTube channel under the name The Diamond Minecart or DanTDM . His channel mainly focuses on the computer game Minecraft . He has over 19 million subscribers (June 2018) and is one of the largest-reaching YouTubers in England. In 2014, his income was estimated between $ 213,000 and $ 2.15 million. In July 2015, his channel was added to the list of the most famous YouTubers in the world.

Middleton was born on November 8, 1991 in Aldershot , England. He has a brother and his parents separated when he was a child. His father was a soldier. He attended Northampton University and started a YouTube channel specializing in Pokémon . He called himself PokemanDanLv45 ".

In 2012 he created TheDiamondMinecart, a Let's Play channel aimed at younger viewers. In the meantime he has changed his name to DanTDM . He's making his home videos from Wellingborough. In an interview with The Big Issue , he describes his daily routine as follows: He gets up around 9:00 a.m. and starts recording his video around 10:00 a.m. In the afternoon he looks for the latest Minecraft updates and then cuts the video, which he then publishes at 8:30 p.m. Then he looks at the comments. He said: “There is no other game where new content is released by fans every day and some of it is incredible.” For the weekend, he is preparing special videos about his made-up characters. He also has a vlog channel where he posts videos about his private life.

Middleton is a regular at the Insomnia Festival . He's also been to the BBC's Technobabble twice , commenting on several video games, and once on ITV's Lorraine, where he talked about what it's like to be a YouTuber.

Middleton married his girlfriend Jemma on March 17, 2013; she also plays Minecraft.
