Daniel Barnz (born January 1, 1970 ) is an American director and screenwriter .

biography

Daniel Barnz grew up near Philadelphia . He studied English at Yale University and then moved to the University of Southern California , where he received a master's degree in film production . After graduating, he tried unsuccessfully as a screenwriter.

In 2001 Daniel Barnz released The Cutting Room, a short film . His feature film debut followed in 2008 with Phoebe in Wonderland . He then made the film Beastly in 2010 based on a template by Alex Flinn . The Beauty and the Beast variant, however, only came to the cinema in 2011. He also wrote the script for both films. The film drama Um Klassen better followed in 2012 .
