Daniel Carlsson (born February 24, 1977 in Linköping ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with ASG Angers in the French Ligue Magnus since 2010 .

Career

Daniel Carlsson began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the junior division of Linköpings HC , for whose professional team he was active from 1993 to 1996 in Division 1, which was still second at the time. Then the defender also played for three years for Djurgårdens IF in the Elitserien , where he appeared in the 1997/98 season in parallel for the Huddinge IK in Division 1. For the 1999/2000 season he moved to his ex-club Linköpings HC, after it had been promoted to the Elitserien in the meantime.

From 2000 to 2010 Carlsson was with Rouen Hockey Elite 76 in the Ligue Magnus under contract. During this period he won the French championship five times with the French (2001, 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2010), won the Coupe de France three times (2002, 2004 and 2008), and in 2008 the Coupe de la Ligue . In addition, he stood with his team in the final of the Coupe de France in 2008, and in the final of the Coupe de la Ligue in 2007. In the 2008/09 season he reached second place in the IIHF Continental Cup at European level with Rouen . He was personally elected to the Ligue Magnus All-Star Team in 2005.

For the 2010/11 season Carlsson moved within the Ligue Magnus to ASG Angers .

International

For Sweden , Carlsson took part in the 1997 World Junior Championship .
