Daniel Dilger
Daniel Dilger (* around 1572 in Danzig , Polish Prussia, † February 26, 1645 ) was a Lutheran preacher in Danzig.
Life
Daniel Dilger had been a preacher at St. Catherine's Church in Gdansk since 1597 . In 1626 he was called as a second preacher (deacon) to the Marienkirche .
Dilger was a supporter of Johann Arndt and represented his true Christianity and paradise garden . He announced his view from the pulpit. With this he got into a dispute for years with the first preacher Johannes Corvinus , as did Hermann Rathmann .
His son Nathanael Dilger (1604–1679) was also a preacher in Danzig and senior of the spiritual ministry (first pastor), as well as court preacher in Rappoltsweiler .
Salomon Wegner painted a portrait of him as a painting. Then Jeremias Falck from Danzig made a copperplate in 1648.
