Daniel Dumitrescu (born September 23, 1968 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian boxer .

Dumitrescu reached the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul after victories over Anthony Konyegwachie, Nigeria (5: 0), Wataru Yamada, Japan (5: 0), Wangchai Pongsri, Thailand (3: 2), Regilio Tuur, Holland (5: 0 ), and Lee Jae-hyuk , South Korea (5-0), the final in the featherweight (-57 kg). In this he met the powerful Italian Giovanni Parisi , to whom he had to admit defeat by knockout in the first round. In 1989 he also won the lightweight (-60 kg) behind Kostya Tszyu , Soviet Union (4: 1), the silver medal at the European Championships . Another participation in the 1992 Olympic Games ended for Dumitrescu in the quarter-finals against Ramaz Paliani , United Team (11: 5).

In 1993 Dumitrescu turned pro and won five fights by 1995, all of which he won (2 KO's). After a break of two years, he played two more fights, which he lost (1 KO).
