Daniel Franziskus (born August 13, 1991 in Aurich ) is a former German soccer player . Most recently he played for VfB Lübeck, for which he has worked in scouting since retiring .

Career

As a player

In his youth, Franziskus played for Werder Bremen and VfB Oldenburg . In the A-youth, Franziskus rose to the Bundesliga with the U19 of VfB Oldenburg. From summer 2010 he was used in the senior team of the league club. In the summer of 2011 he moved to the Regionalliga Nord for SV Wilhelmshaven. In January 2013 he went on to the sixth division TuS Pewsum . After half a year he moved to the third division SSV Jahn Regensburg . In this, Franziskus first played for two months in the second team, was then used in the professional team and scored three goals in 17 games in the third division. At the end of the season, Francis received a professional contract until 2015.

By relegation to the regional league, the contract was void and Franziskus decided to change clubs. The 2015/16 season he played for the northeast regional division TSG Neustrelitz . After a year in Neustrelitz, Franziskus rejoined VfB Oldenburg in 2016.

For the 2018/19 season, Franziskus moved within the Regionalliga Nord to VfB Lübeck , where he received a contract with a term until June 30, 2020. The attacker scored 14 goals for VfB in his first season before a knee injury put him out of action. In October 2019, the club finally announced the resulting end of the striker's career.

After the active career

Shortly after the end of his playing career, VfB Lübeck confirmed that they would continue to employ Franziskus and have found him a job in the club's internal scouting area.

Private

Daniel Franziskus has been in a relationship with the winner of the eighth season of Germany's Next Topmodel , Lovelyn Enebechi , since New Year's Eve 2013 .
