Daniel Georg von Lindstedt

Daniel Georg von Lindstedt (born January 22, 1705 - † July 6, 1764 in Stendal ) was a royal Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 27 .

His family was an old noble family from the Altmark. His father was Joachim Andreas von Lindstedt , heir to the Lindstedt estate.

Life

In 1724 Daniel Georg von Lindstedt was a riding page of King Friedrich Wilhelm I. In 1740 he became captain of the grenadier in the Fusilier Regiment Dossow , where he became major on July 18, 1745. On June 13, 1753 he became a lieutenant colonel, in 1757 a colonel and on December 11, 1758 major general. In 1759 he took over Infantry Regiment No. 27.

In the same year he commanded a grenadier battalion, which was formed from regiments No. 31 (Lestwitz) and No. 40 ( von Kreytzen ). He was wounded in the battle of Prague and Kolin . In the battle of Kunersdorf he led the grenadier battalions in the first meeting in the main attack. He was able to conquer the front entrenchments with them, but the regiments suffered heavy losses. In March 1759 he joined General Hülsen's corps . He fought against the Austrian General Campitelli, who had to retreat to Hof . In November he went into captivity with the Fink Corps during the battle near Maxen . He remained in Austrian captivity until the peace in 1763. Like the other von Maxen generals, he was tried and sentenced to court martial.

He was married to one of Pieverling († February 1777). Despite her husband's conviction, she received a lifetime salary .
