Daniel H. Heinke

Daniel H. Heinke (* 1974 ) is a German lawyer . He is head of the Bremen Police Department and Honorary Professor for Terrorism Research at the Bremen University of Public Administration (HfÖV).

Life

Heinke graduated from high school in 1993 and studied law and English legal language at the universities of Bielefeld and Münster from 1993 to 1998 . From 1998 to 2000 he trained as an officer in the police force . From 2000 to 2002 he completed his legal preparatory service at the OLG Hamm . From 2003 to 2008 he worked as a public prosecutor at the Bremen Public Prosecutor's Office, most recently as a special department head for capital crimes and death investigations. Afterwards he worked in various functions with the Senator for the Interior in Bremen .

From 2007 onwards, Heinke was a part-time lecturer in criminal law and criminal procedure law in the bachelor's degree courses in Police Enforcement Services and Risk and Security Management at the University of Public Administration in Bremen . In 2009 he received his doctorate as Dr. jur. Since 2016 he has been honorary professor for criminal law, criminal procedure law and interdisciplinary terrorism research at the University of Public Administration Bremen (HfÖV).

From August 2016 to February 2020 he was the head of the Bremen State Criminal Police Office , and since March 2020 he has headed the Bremen Police Department.

Heinke has also been an Associate Fellow of the International Center for the Study of Radicalization (ICSR), King's College London, since 2014 .
